books Where to buy cheaper books?

Books are rather expensive but they are great resources of knowledge as well as recreation. Reading is a great habit to instill in everyone, preferably starting in children so that they grow up with books.

But since books are quite costly, and our public libraries are not very accessible not to mention probably not so well stocked on a wide selection of books to cater to everyone, it may be difficult for people to have access to more reading materials.

However, fret not, as there are alternatives and opportunities for you to buy books for less. There are quite a few book warehouse sales these days, from MPH and Times BookStore namely. If I’m not mistaken, there are at least 2 book warehouse sales a year and if you want to keep track of them, look out in the newspapers as there are always advertisements placed on these warehouse sales.

Also, you can check out Borders. Borders has quite a large section of bargain books and there are quite good titles on sale. Alternatively, you can wait for the sale period of bookstores that are sure to happen a couple of times a year. Again, you may have to watch out for them in the print ads.

If you want to be able to constantly enjoy cheaper books, you can also buy discounted books online at MPH Online. There’s monthly specials, daily and even bi-monthly specials where discounts are offered between 15% to 30% off usual prices. Take note that these discounts are only applicable if you buy the books online and not from the physical MPH stores.

Shipping charges apply when you buy online, but if your purchases come up to RM150 and above, you get free shipping from MPH! Not bad, huh?

So here’s another tip: Group your purchases and buy them one shot to enjoy free shipping if they add up to RM150 and more. If you do not have the quantity, ask around and see if your family and friends want to make any purchase together.
