Some time back we were looking to buy a DVD player. I thought this kind of electrical item is simply and widely available in just about any place, from departmental stores to the homegrown electrical shops. I didn’t think much of it and thought we’d just pick one up whenever we go out for a meal at the shopping malls.
But when we actually went about to getting it, we didn’t find much choices around and it wasn’t as easy as ABC after all! It did take several trips for us to make up our minds on the brand and choiced player, according to our budget, of course.
That incident made me start to think and question where people actually go to buy their electrical goods. Is there a preferred store that offers a wide selection in terms of brands and the models each brand carries? I really found the DVD players to be quite limited in department stores as well as one of the electrical shop that I went to. Perhaps I didn’t go to the right places after all.
In the US, I know people used to go to a place called Circuit City to get their electronics. But I heard that has recently shut down. So where else do people go to shop for such products?
