Getting to know the dangers that lurk

by specky on September 4, 2010

Recently I read in the papers about some freak accidents that some poor soul had suffered from his line of work. I also heard a terrible story from a friend about his young engineer friend who fell while on the job and is now needing some 6 months to recuperate.

Sometimes we just don’t know the dangers that lurk in one’s job, the risk they are taking. I tend to wonder also whether they ever thought about it or took it for granted that nothing bad ever happens to them, only to people they don’t know.

But the truth is, we’ve been hearing more and more of such unfortunate incidences and it’s becoming closer and closer to people whom we know.

Over here right now we don’t hear much of health hazardous jobs but in the west, I heard that a lot of people actually suffered Mesothelioma due to their work environment. It’s really unfortunate and a sad story.

I’m not saying that we have to be paranoid, because many jobs to pose their own dangers. Just that we have to be very aware of what we are exposing ourselves to everyday and we just need to be more careful.
