Safety feature

I recently received an email that gave a pretty good tip about home security. It says that when you go to bed at night, take along your car alarm keys with you and keep it in the bedroom. If security in the house has been breached, set off the car alarm as a signal to your neighbours that something is wrong. Brilliant idea, don’t you think?

Of course if you have a home alarm system installed, that’s better. Just use that but keep that car keys in your bedroom too, just in case. You never know how it can be useful in other ways.

One other tip I learned is to go check on your doorbell every once in a while to make sure it is always working. There are people who sometimes lurk around and try their luck to see if anyone’s at home in the daytime. If your doorbell is not working and those culprits press on it and not get a response, they may think no one is home and therefore a prime time for them to break in.

Simple yet clever tips, aren’t they?
